About the event
Scott is a native of Jacksonville and has been a Professor of history at Florida State College (FSCJ)at Jacksonville since 2015. He has a Ph. D. in American history from the University of Virginia and has taught at several universities before
coming to FSCJ. He is a published author and is teaching a new course on the history of Jacksonville. Scott will explain how he hopes the course will inspire citizens to use theirknowledge of local history to bridge social divides, create shared identities and stories, and reimagine the city's future from the foundation of its past.
