The Club with a Vision
The Westside Business Leaders Association is both a community service organization and a place to help you build your business through networking, presenting informative speakers, sharing and encouragement among members.
Our motto is “The Club with a Vision.” However, there are many important themes within our organization. We also believe in Giving to the Community, Building for the Future and making the Westside a better place to live and work by:

Encouraging members to do business with each other on the Westside

Improving the public image of business and businesspeople

Assisting each other in solving business problems

Working to help improve schools, streets and public safety

Assisting proposed legislation that abets a good business climate, as well as discouraging harmful legislation
Ways We Help
The Westside Business Leaders Association was organized in 1977 and incorporated in 1979. Since then, we have had many important accomplishments. We are an organization with a rich tradition and many successes, but we live in the present and look toward the future.
Our organization is about making the Westside community better and building our businesses. We are eager for new ideas to make this happen, but certain fundamentals will always guide us. These are integrity, motivation, enthusiasm and continuous learning.
The WBLA has a charitable heart, and gives throughout the year. We give to individuals and groups, but most of our emphasis is on education. We give several scholarships each year to encourage young people to embark on post-secondary education. We are always looking for other opportunities to make education a priority for youth on the Westside.
Our Association also wants to help businesses on the Westside. We seek to improve macroeconomic conditions, and to encourage members to do business with one another.
Scholarships
Promoting Higher Education
Promoting higher education for Westside students is an integral part of the Westside Business Leaders Association. Students who apply and are chosen, are awarded a $1,000 scholarship to help pay for tuition and other expenses.
To fund these scholarships, WBLA holds a variety of fundraisers throughout the year. These fundraisers include BBQ chicken dinners, silent auctions, drawings, and our signature event, our Annual Golf Tournament.
